KAPSOM’s Namibia Plant Passes Trial Run
KAPSOM has successfully completed a trial run of its small-scale green ammonia plant in Namibia this week, marking an important milestone for the project and a meaningful step forward in Africa’s green energy transition. The achievement brings the project closer to its planned agricultural applications.

The first batch of green ammonia successfully produced through trial run
With a design capacity of 100 tonnes per year, the plant will supply green ammonia for subsequent conversion into green fertilizer. As an integral part of a green energy eco-village, it will help connect renewable energy production with agricultural needs, turning clean energy into a useful input for local food production.
The successful trial run represents progress toward this integrated vision. By linking green ammonia production with downstream fertilizer manufacturing, the project aims to demonstrate how renewable energy can support both industrial development and agriculture. It also provides a foundation for further development of the eco-village’s green energy ecosystem.
For Namibia, the milestone advances efforts to translate its green energy ambitions into practical applications. For the wider African continent, it offers an encouraging example of how small-scale green ammonia projects can contribute to the transition toward more sustainable energy and agricultural systems.
KAPSOM thanks the project partners and teams whose dedication made this milestone possible. As the project moves forward, the company looks forward to further progress in Namibia and to supporting the development of small-scale green ammonia projects worldwide. Each successful project adds practical experience that can help advance future deployment and bring green ammonia closer to the communities and industries that use it.
